I have Semantec Internet Security 2003 (firewall) installed. Until this
version, no problem. However, now it does not protect me. According to Semantec:
Error 003

or newer.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
Expected Results:
I should work with my firewall, as it has always done.
Firewall is current and up to date on all components.

So... your firewall is suddenly refusing to work with Mozilla, basically? Does
it work with 1.5? What's the earliest build it does not work with?

From my systray icon, it appears to be working. But my
SecurityCenter|SecurityMonitor says: "System Alert. Urgent Attention. Go to the
Securtiy Center to Correct." That link is
http://security.symantec.com/ssc/home.asp?j=1&langid=ie&venid=symnis2003&plfid=22&pkj=ZXXIQKZWCGZYFVHDYKD,
which will check anyone's computer for security. That's where I get the message
mentioned in my earlier bug report report. I wanted to check it, but could not.
So I can't be absolutely certain if it is or it is not working properly, or at all.
Thank you in advance.

Sounds like their website is just locking out Mozilla on purpose...

I have submitted comments about this to their feedback area. I suggested they
visit www.mozilla.org to learn more about it, and update their page to work with
it. But it indicates that they do not respond to feedback. So I will have to
just wait and see if they do anything about it.

Carl, as you are a customer, you should be able to make a support request rather
than just provide feedback. Can you contact
http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/consumer.html and see what you can find out
from their support technicians?

As you suggested, I submitted a support request, as follows:
I have Semantec Internet Security 2003 (firewall) installed (InternetSec 2003
ser # xxxxxx Account ID: xxxxxx). I've had no problems since I installed it
nearly a year ago. From my systray icon, it appears to be working fine, as it
always has. But my SecurityCenter|SecurityMonitor says: "System Alert. Urgent
Attention. Go to the Securtiy Center to Correct." That link is
http://security.symantec.com/ssc/home.asp?j=1&langid=ie&venid=symnis2003&plfid=22&pkj=ZXXIQKZWCGZYFVHDYKD.
That's where I get the following message:
"Error 003
Scan for Security Risks requires Internet Explorer 5.0 or newer or Netscape 4.5
or newer."
I can't be certain if my firewall is or is not working properly, or even if it
is working at all, which is important to me since I have a dsl line.
I use Mozilla, a browser well beyond Netscape 4.5. Either your page is not
configured for dealing with the Mozilla browser, or my Internet Security is not
working properly. I cannot tell which.
If it is merely a matter of configuring your page, I would appreciate your doing
so. If it is other than that, please advise me how I can obtain the fix.
For more information about the mozilla browser, pleae see http://www.mozilla.org.
Thank you in advance.
