I only check the POP account every few days, and sometimes (About once every week or two), it will suddenly decide to have over a thousand e-mail messages in it. These e-mail messages all come in as new mail, but are in fact either repeated copies of messages that are already in the POP account, or, more bizarrely, copies of messages from the IMAP account. The problem has persisted from Thunderbird 0.2 through 0.3. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: It appears to happen randomly when I check mail on POP account. I use the default Thunderbird theme. Thunderbird has many messages which were imported from Outlook. Some of these messages imported from Outlook have been imported across multiple computers, over multiple reformattings, and among multiple e-mail programs. But the messages that are repeating are all new ones, not old ones, so I'd be surprised if that mattered.
Is anything being done on this?
Probably not, because this is not Mail Window Front End. Try changing the Product to MailNews and Component to POP3.
Moved to proper product/component. Difficult to give new information, since I no longer have that POP account - IMAP only now.
