User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7 To delete many items of junk mail, the user can select all of them using Ctrl-A or the menus. To delete one item of junk mail, however, the user must click on that message, which forces the user to view the body of what is a possibly offensive mail message. Perhaps an informational message could be shown along with a "Show message" button next to it, in place of the message body, when first selecting it. Maybe this could be integrated with the already existing junk toolbar in the message view pane. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Assuming that by delete, you mean actually deleting a message (moving it to Trash): it is possible to delete a single message without viewing it, by right-clicking on the message and selecting Delete Message from the menu. See also bug 195006.
