If your network connection goes down, you should still be able to do a Save
Image As from the context menu.  Instead, Mozilla tries to check that the image
is still  up-to-date by contacting the web server and fails when it can't
instead of allowing you to save.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Bring up a web page w/ images
2. Disconnect from Internet or activate a VPN connection which can't route
3. Right click on an image and do Save As

Actual Results:  
Error msg saying that image has changed.

Expected Results:  
It should just let you save instead of giving you an error.

I couldn't reproduce this bug in the 20031019 Mozilla nightly build. Killing my
net connection after loading mozilla.org's site, I could still save images to
disk without a problem. Do you have the cache enabled? The settings are under
Advanced > Cache in the preferences menu. Thanks for any additional information.

Jon, did you test with no-cache images?  (Ones that have that header sent by the
server.).  If not, please do.  Reopening pending such testing.

Does this HTTP response fit the case you're looking for? If so, then yes, I can
still save this file to my harddrive after unplugging from the network. The
image was an ad displayed on the cnn.com front page.

You can try http://www.heise.de
It contains some animated GIF's which URLs are dynamical generated and
redirected to a static URL. I got the same error when I try to save these images.
The redirected images are cached under the original URL in memory. I filled bug
229839 and marked it as a dup of bug 89419. I don't know if the reason for those
and this bug are the same. Marking this bug as NEW. Maybe someone could mark
this bug later as a dup of bug 89419. (Set dependency)
