To reproduce:
1) Open a page (http://www.mozilla.org/)
2) resize the window's width and height to get smaller and smaller
3) eventually the right scrollbars will appear at the bottom right.

Confirmed on 20031021 Firebird/0.7+ using the standard theme.

For it to occur, you need both horizontal and vertical scroll bars present. When
they are, a small square appears in between them (just above the corner
resizer). If you grab the corner and resize the window in any direction, in the
square above it you can see a weird 'trailing' or ghosting effect, which shows
bits of images from either scroll bar, depending on which way you're moving the
corner. Sometimes it's an arrow image, making it look like you have a third
scroll bar arrow. If you resize it fast enough in a diagonal direction,
sometimes you can get it to show bits of the web page instead of the scrollbars.

At the risk of being spammy, I'll report a second effect here that I think is a
result of the same problem. If you think it isn't, I can open it as a new bug:

Resize (shrink) a browser window so that one or both scroll bars appear (doesn't
matter which). Now grab a scroll bar and move it to the extreme end (far right
for the horizontal, bottom for the vertical). Then grab the bottom right corner
and resize the window to make it larger. You should notice a weird 'hall of
mirrors' or ghosting effect made up of images from the edge of the web page or
scroll bars. If you grab a scroll bar and move it, this effect immediately vanishes.

Unless any fix requires some FB-specific changes this is a dupe of a Mozilla bug
- bug 30579.

Yeah, I noticed that one. I just thought that the Firebird UI code was separate
from the Mozilla Seamonkey code and would therefore warrant a separate bug.
Maybe not.

In light of the similarity/duplication between this bug and Seamonkey bug 30579,
it looks like the "ghosting" effect I reported in comment 5 are the result of an
entirely different bug. Posted that as a new bug: bug 224376.
