That directory is in charge of the MLP, and it's our concern how we want to name the directories. We always used this style for point releases up to now, and I also don't like it. We even may change this convention in the future for new directories, but we won't change any directory that's already in place. Sorry for your inconvenience, but it does break too much and hellp too little to change it.
