User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 I cannot download files over my cablemodem (Adelphia PowerLink) using Mozilla. Very small files (about 200KB) will download and I can save web pages. Files larger than 1MB cause the problem. File type does not seem to matter. I click on a file to download. I get the download manager and try to save the file to my hard drive. The download manager reports 0KB of KB and everything stops no matter how long I wait for further activity. I usually have to close and re-open Mozilla to continue browsing. These files download fine using Internet Explorer. Also, I can download files using Mozilla if I activate my dial-up service and accept a much slower download. This happens at any site that I've tried to download files from. One further note: When I open the download manager after re-starting Mozilla, it reports 64KB downloaded and the process canceled although nothing has been saved to my hard drive. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to website where file is located 2. Click on a file to be downloaded 3. Choose save to disk Actual Results: Download manager reports 0KB of 0KB and all internet communication stops. Nothing is actually downloaded Expected Results: Saved the file to my hard drive I'm not a programmer, but I have looked through the Preferences and can find nothing that should be causing this to happen only over my cable service.
I am seeing similar results on my home cable modem (1.5Mb) and at work on a T1 (670 kbps). Mozilla 1.8a2 will load a few hundred KB then stop, no recovery. It will show a high rate per second (150 - 1000kbps). Example is 147KB downloaded with a displayed rate of about 150kbps. Tested by downloading Windows installations (1.7.2 and 1.8a2) from www.mozilla.org. Mozilla 1.7.2 shows similar results as well. In the same environment, I can run Mozilla Firefox 0.9.3 and successfully complete all of the downloads that the Mozilla versions fail on. Please give this priority. Thanks, Bob
