FYI I've tracked this bug down to the Tabbrowser extension verson 1.7. I have disabled this extension, and the problem is gone. I will upgrade to the latest version of this extension, which should hopefully correct the problem. It would be nice if there was an intuitive way to uninstall extensions, perhaps this is coming in a later version?
