(Reporter: 06lmd6402, Assigned: bugzilla)
Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)
In order to circumvent restrictive client-side cookie policies, it seems that
some tracker cookies are being set by <random string>.example.com. Since each
of these have to be blocked/allowed on a per-cookie basis, this can be annoying.
It's uncommon that a user will wish to allow cookies from
thismachine.example.com but disallow them from thatmachine.example.com, no?
I'm using Firebird but this also may apply to the Mozilla browser.
Cael
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Browse the internet.
2. Block a cookie.
3. Block another cookie from the same domain.
4. Repeat.
Oops. Note that this in fact present under Firebird 0.7, my useragent was set
to something else.

under exceptions in the Privacy->Cookies settings, you can set example.com to be
blocked if there's a site driving you nuts. Some people might want to block
www.mozilla.org and allow bugzilla.mozilla.org, as a single example (or block
the adserver, but allow the www server (a la Gamespy and others).
duping against the bug that covers this in more detail (the same UI changes
would be necessary to support this too).
