works for me -- Moz 1.5 final on WinXP Pro

Also, I've seen Westlaw work for whole lawfirms using Moz 1.3 final, Netscape
7.0 and Netscape 7.1. Perhaps a Moz 1.6a issue?

REPORTER: When you say "This page used to open" -- under what conditions? Were
you using the same version of Mozilla? Yesterday? 6 months ago?

Also, correcting typo in Summary.
Summary: Westlaw page does open → Westlaw page does not open
I use this page to sign in about once a month to check for updates on cases that
affect my work. I don't recall what version I used the last time. But I just
tried it again with NS 7.1, which I had used for a very long time before
switching to Mozilla, and that doesn't work either. But it does work with NS
4.79. I had assumed it was a problem with the build.

I can only surmise that they have made modifications to their page, so I will
contact them.

If I find out more, I'll advise.

Thanks.
Works for Me using 2003102804 nightly on WinXp.
and another wfm, xp pro 2003102504
carljordan - I think it may be something about your systems:

 * I've seen it work under NS 7.1 on Win2K
 * It's worked for me and two other people
 * It worked for you, until ?

Two questions:

You used NS 7.1 for "a very long time"?

Just to restate: When you try to load Westlaw.com, the page doesn't load at all?
Do you allow cookies, or are you using the password manager, or do you login
typing password and username yourself?
I have just installed 2003102804, and I have the same results.

I have cookies enabled. In fact, I have a Westlaw cookie in my cookie file.
I have javascript enabled.
I do not use a password manager, but I do have my Westlaw password saved in my
Mozilla prefs (it is the only one I have saved).
I cannot log in because I do not even get the log in screen - it is a blank,
grey page. The page does not load. The tab reads "untitled." If I type
http://www.westlaw.com into the address bar, then the browser does not even
leave the page I am on.
We do not have XP at our agency. We have 2000, but have had it for quite some
time, a year or more.
I've contacted their tech support, and have everythihg (so far as I can tell)
set up correctly. Thay have asked me to run a PING or TRACEROUTE. They have
offered to help me if I call them, which I will, since I have no idea how to do
that. It must be a problem at my end, and not in the Mozilla browser itself.

I used NS 7.1 from shortly after it came out (ver 6 before that), until a few
months ago when I decided to give the nightly builds a whirl. Educational, I'd
say, but no major problems. I don't consider this major, because I can still
get done what I have to do with msie (which is actually our agency's prescribed
brower).

Also, I have not tried it from home, which I will try to do tonight.
carljordan - Try the following:

1) Delete the Westlaw password from your password manager:
Edit >> Preferences >> Privacy & Security >> Passwords >> Manage Stored Passwords

2) Clear your cache:
Edit >> Preferences >> Advanced >> Cache >> Clear Cache

3) Reboot and give it a try.

Another tip: Try their text-only page -- not as a permenant solution, but to
help identify the problem:

Summary: Westlaw page does not open → Westlaw.com won't even begin to load
Resolved, finally.

I went back and forth with several emails with Westlaw's tech support, without
success. Also, when I tried it from my home, I had no problem.

Appearently they made some new security changes on their sign in page, and I was
not able to get to it from my computer (I'm in a Federal Govt. office). Westlaw
gave me a new link that I can use
(http://web2.westlaw.com/signon/default.wl?bhskip=1) and I now have no problems.
I'll just have to bookmark it, so I can continue to use Mozilla.

Hence, it wasn't a Mozilla bug, after all.

Thanks for all of the advice and sorry for the bother.
