pref.js, line 23: Syntax Error: unterminated string literal user pref("wallet.c'

Browser starts, but all bookmarks and settings have been reset. Also last
Win2000 session experienced a meltdown (lockup)...possibly due to JVM
problems...and file system scan was done after cold start. Firebird is not
configured within Win Registry.

Message occurs at each startup.

something corrupted your prefs.js file.  Your bookmarks.html should be
untouched, unless whatever corrupted the prefs.js file got that file at the same
time.

There is a utility out for backing up Mozilla profiles, its probably a good idea
to grab it if losing your bookmarks is a real concern.

Try creating a clean profile and then importing your old bookmarks.
