User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007
since Mozilla 1.5 I'm not able to move or copy any Mail to the folder named
'Important'. I can't see the folder in the Copy/Move Menu and drag&drop doesn't
work either. If I rename the folder it works just fine.
The mail server is a postfix server and I use IMAP to access my mail.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a folder named 'Important' on your mail server
2.Try to copy/move a mail to this folder
3.
Actual Results:
You can't see the folder on the list...
Drag&Drop doesn't work either...
Expected Results:
in the normal case you can access the folder like any other folders

Reporter, could you generate an IMAP protocol log (as detailed in
http://www.mozilla.org/quality/mailnews/mail-troubleshoot.html#imap), and:
1. Log in.
2. Drag-drop a message to the 'important' folder.
3. Rename the 'important' folder.
4. Drag-drop a message to the renamed folder.
Thanks!

Ok, i generated a IMAP protocol, but because it is so large (about 200kB) I
desided to put it on my server, so everybody can download it there if he/she like.
the url is: http://elso.mine.nu/mozilla.log
thanks in advance

From the IMAP log, it doesn't look like we're issuing a COPY command at all. The
log shows the UID COPY commands to 'INBOX.Redhat' and 'INBOX.Importants'.
I'm also using Courier IMAP (albeit with Mozilla 1.4 just right now, not 1.5),
and I have no trouble creating an 'Important' folder and copying/moving messages
to it.
Perhaps the front-end doesn't think the folder can accept mail? When you drag
the message over the folder, does the cursor change to the 'drop ok' icon
(pointer-with-dotted-box), or the 'no drop' icon (circle-with-slash)? That might
also explain why the folder doesn't show up in the move/copy menus.
[by the way, you should probably either remove or redact that IMAP log - your
bugzilla password was included in one of the messages you clicked on!].

Hello Malcolm,
first of all, thx a lot for the hint. I hope I catched all the passwords.
when I drag a message over the 'import' folder, the cursor changes to the 'no
drop' icon. This happens just on the Windows version. On Linux it's working fine.
So it's no big thing for me, cause I just have to use Windows at work.

I'm guessing that we think that the folder can't be written to for some reason,
so it's not showing up in the Move/Copy menus, and drag/drop is disallowed.
Nothing obvious shows up in the log, but I'm not a mailnews expert.
Can you replicate the problem with a new profile?

Hello Malcolm,
I'm not at work right now, sorry. How I mentioned before I just have a win98
there. I'll try it on Monday, tomorrow we have a holiday in Germany. :)
Have a nice weekend...

Hello again,
sorry I was busy and how you may mentioned it's not that important for me.
now, I created a new profile and with that profile I can move/copy to the
'important' folder. So it seems to be a problem with the old profile. Maybe
because it was created with a previous version of mozilla. Anyway, thanks for
your help.
Ciao Michael
