224421 - check for new messages stops when I open a message in a new window

If I set the server settings to check mail every X minutes and automatically
download messages, it does that.  However, when I open a message in a new
window, it stops checking.  As soon as the new window is closed, the checking
starts again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. set server preferences to check check for new messages every X minutes
2. set server preferences to automatically download new messages 
3. select a message
4. open the messsage in a new window

Actual Results:  
new messages were not automatically downloaded

Expected Results:  
continued to download messages automatically as selected
