User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7
Build Identifier: Thunderbird 0.3 Linux w/ XFT, GTK2.0

When account settings specify "Delete Messages from server when they are deleted
or moved from Inbox" and junk filtering is enabled with junk mail set to move to
Junk folder or Trash automatically, any message flagged erroneously as junk will
be deleted from the server on next mail check even if message is later unflagged
and moved back to Inbox.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select "Leave Messages on Server" and "Delete Messages from server when they
are deleted or moved from Inbox" from Server settings
2. Select "Move incoming messages determined to be junk mail to:" and choose
some other folder.

Actual Results:
When mail received that is incorrectly flagged as junk, mail is moved and
subsequently deleted from mail server on next mail check.

Expected Results:
Message should remain on server. Suggest adding delay for deleted messages
flagged as junk to be deleted, or option not to automatically delete from server
messages flagged by Thunderbird as junk until they are manually deleted by user.

David can you write up some testing steps for QA? We should let them know that
we'd like to check this in today so they are aware of a change between today
and tomorrow's RC1 release.

Set up a pop3 server and configure to leave messages on server.
Define a filter that changes the junk status of a message (doesn't matter, non
junk or junk)
send and receive a message that triggers the filter.
The message will be deleted from the pop3 server.

With this fix, the message won't be deleted from the pop3 server. The fix only
affects the code that runs when a pop3 filter sets the junk status on a message,
so it's extremely localized.

To verify that the message isn't deleted, you can either use a pop3 account that
has web-mail access (I think gmail does), or look at a pop3 protocol log.

David, will problem of Bug 262423 be resolved by your patch too?
Is Bug 262423 DUP of this bug?

So do i need to move the mail back to Inbox and then delete it from there or
will the mail also get deleted from server, when i delete it from the Junk folder?

Answering self: The junk mail gets deleted from server when i delete it from Trash.

How exactly did the message get *into* Trash? Is Trash your Junk folder, or did
it get automoved by JMC? My expectations in the latter case is that the message
would be deleted from the server when moved from Junk to Trash; maybe grounds
for an RFE.
