i had a email account at mozilla mail and very much emails only saved with
mozilla mail on my pc. (i was using mozilla 1.4 german)
then i had some trouble with msblast virus. about two weeks after mozilla was
very slow again, but even the newest fprot versions coudnt find any viruses. so
i decided to delete mozilla and to install the newest verion = mozilla 1.5
after that i had my old account, the old settings and ad acces to all old
emails... but suddenly all settings of mozilla mail (and even mozilla itself)
was lost over night. i can make a new account, thats not the problem, but i'm
very unhappy because i've lost all my saved emails! how can i solve this
problem? can i import the old emails from harddisk by myself?

If your mail files are still there (and it's most likely they are - it sounds
like your prefs.js was corrupted). Just look in your mozilla user profile
directories and see if you can find your INBOX and other mail folders (or just
search your hard drive for files called INBOX). Then, you can copy the old
folders into the new profile directory you created.

Reporter, do you use PC-Cillin? Then it could be a dupe of Bug 201812. Otherwise
I think it is a dupe of Bug 193638. For help see that bug report or look at
http://www.mozilla.org/start/1.5/troubleshooting/#restore-mail for tips.
