Would be a nice idea, while we're still young, to tidy up the code using
perltidy. We can then make it a checkin condition if we like.

I'll have a look at the indentation to see what sort of options we need, if any.

John, if you still think this is a good idea, should I whack the whole tree, or
whack it in bits and attach the patches as I go?

Just go ahead and whack the tree; just make sure that it still runs on your box
and check it in :)  Patch has pre-approved r= as long as it's all perltidy changes.
