RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 175279

The way check boxes and in particular radio button are rendered are poor. The
radio buttons in particular have a jagged edge and the check boxes are too
small; actually they are both too small. I don't know if this is unique to the
Mac (I doubt it).

I've looked at other non Safari browsers (IE, Opera, ...) and they all use
native Apple widgets for check boxes, radio buttons and drop down lists. I
don't know enough about the details of how you utilize CSS to generate these to
suggest using the native widgets. If that's a bad idea (to remain cross
platform) suggest you consider redesigning yours.

Cheers,
bob

A couple things: first, you may be interested in Camino, it's a port of Mozilla
to a native OSX UI. See http://www.mozilla.org/projects/camino/. Second, if what
you're filing is not a bug but an enhancement request, please use the
"enhancement" severity rather than "normal". Thanks.

As I know little about OSX I'm not certain, but is this bug perhaps a dupe of
bug 111230?

Summary: Not a bug - an improvement → Improve appearance of checkboxes and radio buttons on MacOS X
I didn't see the enhancement severity, sorry.

I have tried Camino. Few thoughts on it. I like your integrated browser, mail
and address book. Camino has a way to go (has many more issues than Mozilla).
I also prefer to stick with a cross platform app. I assume it gets more support
and I may move to Linux in the future if Apple morphs into son of MS.

I looked at the bug thread you pointed me at. Hard to tell if it's the same.
Could be but the dialog is over a year old.

I'll ask a friend of mine that runs on Linux to send me s screen shot of the
radio button rendering to see if this is mac unique.

Actually, this is a gfx bug, in my opinion... The jaggedy drawing happens on
Windows and Linux too (on Windows you have to disable native theming first).

Bug 175279 looks like it could be the right dupe for this.
That depends on whether you consider this to be an XP bug or a OSX-only bug...
