User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030827 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030827 Despite of the preferences settings saying, that "www." and ".com" are to be added automatically, no "www." is added in front of the typed in domain "tvspielfilm.de" if no webserver responds to "http://tvspielfilm.de" or if the default alias dns-entry is missing. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Enter the url "http://tvspielfilm.de" 2. 3. Actual Results: "Operation timed out, when trying to contact http://tvspielfilm.de.". Expected Results: Use "http://www.tvspielfilm.de", if this does not work use "http://www.tvspielfilm.de.com".
If you type http://url.de, why should mozilla try http://www.url.de? Simply type url, and then http://www.url.com gets added. in about:config you can specify what would be added, browser.fixup.alternate.suffix is per default set to .com test with Mozilla 1.6a Release: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.6a) Gecko/20031030 tried tvspielfilm.de, and got a time-out tried www.tvspielfilm.de, and instantly got redirected to http://www.tvspielfilm.msn.de/ tried vanshardware, and http://www.vanshardware.com/ got loaded. Looking into the location bar history, I also found vanshardware.com/ tried tomshardware, and http://tomshardware.com/ got loaded. tried amd, and the page was loaded, but no update of the location bar. Location Bar still is showing amd, Tab is showing Advanced..., Page Info is correctly showing http://www.amd.com/us-en/ Location Bar is only showing this after doing a Reload.
