Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. To select default mail client for Panther, use preferences for Apple's default mail app (Applications - Mail - Preferences - General -Default Email Reader). Select Thunderbird. 2. Open Safari or IE and find any page with an email link ("mailto:someone@somedomain.com"). Click the email link. 3. Open Camino or Firebird and find any page with an email link. Click the email link. Actual Results: Thunderbird crashes (step 2) Thunderbird does not crash, but does not open the compose dialogue. Expected Results: open compose email dialogue with email address from browser in to field

Duping to bug 228484, since it has a stack trace. The non-crash part of the mailto: handling problem on OS X is bug 221077. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 228484 ***
