When you open a file:/// URL and click on a file, it opens in the current window (preventing me from avoiding to have to reload the file:/// URL by opening the file in a new window). I'm using Debian's M12 build (the ID says 1999082316)

As reported, right-clicking on a file in a file:/// directory listing loads the file in the same window immediately, but it also displays the longest context menu I have ever seen, seemingly with every item on it that would go on *any* browser-object context menu. It would appear that the context menu work for the directory-tree sort of display is only just begun, if that. I'm not getting any clear picture of who owns this directory-tree stuff from looking for file:// in the Summary and URL fields in the bug database. Tested with: 2000-02-03-10-M14 nightly binary on Windows NT 4.0
Travis, who should get this sucker? You? Bill? Is it some kind of whacky Necko problem?

The work here involves hooking up a context menu and handlers for right click in directory.xul, work that is probably better suited to law@netscape.com (seeing as he "invented" context menus...)
