I have set up a sub-folder of the inbox, and a filter to put certain messages
there. However the majority of the messages are currupted.
I used an editor to look at the message files, and I noticed that every new
message starts with "From - " + the date on a new line. In the message file of
this folder however, these From lines started on arbitrary places in other
lines, and not at the end of the previous message but somewhere in the middle of
that message. It appears as if the last buffers of the messages are not written
to disk in many cases.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
I just noticed that message in the inbox itself are being corrupted as well. I
will try to find out what is happening by studying the headers in the corrupted
mail messages.
The corrupted messages in the Inbox itself all start somewhere in the middle of
the last part of a message, and then show this:
</br>
</BODY></HTML>
------=_NextPart_000_0072_01C3AB17.BD062580--
>From - Sun Nov 16 00:55:40 2003
X-UIDL: <BAY3-F11jr8cU6xfPTe000089a0@hotmail.com>
X-Mozilla-Status: 0000
Notice the ">" in front of From.
When I move such a message to another empty subfolder, and edit the contents of
the message file (=the folder itself), I may find more messages in this message,
all starting with ">From"
After closing Mozilla, editing the message file and deleting the MSF file, I
then get a couple of good messages !
In the Inbox itself the corrupted messages look different from those in the
subfolder. The corrupted From headers always start at the beginning of a line,
but with the ">" in front of "From" . In the subfolder the From header starts
somewhere in the middle of a line.
