This one is 100% reproducable for me. It only seems to occur on CNN's website. Click on a news story that isn't one of the headlines (in other words, one of the stories in the categories, such as "World", "US", etc.). Click on the Back button to return to the main CNN page. Now follow another such story (same or different, doesn't matter). Mozilla will immediately crash even before the page starts loading. I'm using M12.
Severity: normal → critical
This is not reproducible if either the [Stop] button is pressed on each page before moving to the next, or each page is allowed to finish loading before moving on to the next. The crash would seem to be related to known problems with going forward and back while pages are not completely loaded. This *may* be a DUP of bug 18798 "[WEBSHELL] Crash in restoring frame state after hitting back" In that bug the crash happens because bugzilla pages have enough form controls to slow down frame state restoration, so SH history and parsing get out of sync. As well as on CNN pages, I can get a crash every time with either back, back or back, forward on Slashdot pages. I'm guessing that this is the same issue, just in this case it's the sheer complexity of the page, not the number of form controls, that slows things down enough to get out of sync. Cc-ing radha@netscape.com to query if that inference makes any sense.
