But these threads are displayed in some random order, not in a sorted order by date. In fact the desired behaviour should be to maintain the current sort column, and display the messages by threads. I am not sure how this would work for sorts other than by date. But sort by date should definately be preserved. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. click on the small thread icon in the top left "click to display message threads" 2. 3. Actual Results: the messages get grouped in threads. but are unsorted. Expected Results: the threads should be sorted by date.
See bug 219787 and bug 20385. Both bugs have fixes in the nightly 1.6b builds; please try a 1.6b build (or check back after 1.6 Final is released). You may want to maintain this bug as a request that "Sort by Thread" automatically perform the secondary sort by date, rather than by Order Received (as mentioned in the last line of bug 20385 comment 16); otherwise, unless the fixes are somehow not working for you, please mark this bug Resolved | WorksForMe
Kostub: v. 1.6 is out; please install it, and confirm whether it addresses the problem in this bug. If it does, please mark this as WorksForMe.
