After leaving the mail client on for a short time it will use 100% cpu time under linux.
Which build are you using? Are you logged into IMAP mail? Do you have biff (mail notification) on? Trying to find out what your steps are prior to leaving the mail client up. Thanks.

This happened with most late december builds. Haven't gotten any January builds yet. Yes I am logged into IMAP. I don't know. How can I check? Usually happens when I try to delete many emails very quickly by repetedly hitting the delete button.

Alecf says this is related to processing IMAP events on the wrong thread. Scott?

Yes the cpu spike is because of the hacks we had to put into place because events were getting processed on the wrong thread. I'm going to mark this a duplicate of that bug. I'm checking in the removal of those hacks today. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 17065 ***

mpalczew, please see bug#17065 status updates and check on today's M13 build. I believe that this problem has been fixed. Thanks.
