User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Would it be possible to make the top/bottom posting selection specific to a newsgroup rather than a news server or e-mail account? It is inconvenient to have to manually change this when accessing groups on a server like netnews.att.net. There are thousands of groups probably split 50/50 regards top/bottom posting. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
All you need do to have the other behavior is to move your cursor from where you have it default to the other end. How hard is that? Top posting shouldn't even be allowed anyway.
Robert Gault, as a workaround, you can create two different news accounts which each refer to the same server; in one account you can subscribe to the top-post-convention groups, in another account to the bottom-post-convention groups, and then set the preference at the account level. I think it's very unlikely that any sorts of preferences like this will be moved down to the individual newsgroup level, as there currently are *no* preferences that are newsgroup-specific; that would be a fairly major restructuring for not very much gain.
