Sorting of the messages using headers (e.g. Date) in the 'messages header list
grid' breaks the grouping of messages. Messages appear sequencially without
grouping.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Access a NewsGroup with messages
2.Click on the 'Date' title header in the grid to sort order by Date
3.See messages list

Actual Results:
Messages sorted by Date, but appear without grouping

Expected Results:
header Messages grouping intact
S. Niedinger: by 'grouping' do you mean 'threading' -- that is, the messages are
sorted flat rather than threaded? Assuming this is the case:

1) You can use the menu View|SortBy|Date to sort the threads without
   unthreading.
2) You can set the preference mailnews.thread_pane_column_unthreads
to False -- this will allow you to click a column header without
unthreading. See bug 219787 for an additional improvement in this area
that's present in the 1.6b nightly builds.

(Enter about:config into the browser URL bar to get to the preference.)
