User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031130
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031130

When this bug strikes, the first symptom is that the animated gifs no longer
move. Next, an alert drop-down, such as with password manager, or "do you want
to close all tabs", will hang.

The animation is stopped in other windows when the front window has an alert
(This is most likely normal.) Workaround for passwords - for each frequented
site with multiple passwords, the Password Manager will still work to delete all
but one.

Since quitting Mozilla will activate the Tabs question on each multiple-tab
window, this leads to the necessity of using force-quit. Workaround- if you spot
the gifs hanging, close multiple tabs down to one tab each, then quit and
re-launch.

Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Don't know. Have no idea what sets it off. Alerts work
2.and then they don't. (Gifs stop first, even with no alert in sight.)
3.

Actual Results:
1. Animated gifs stop their animation, including the Mozilla icon that tells you
when a page is loading.

2. Alert box won't cancel or OK or Select or anything. No beep either.
In one instance I had a Compose window open & Spellcheck =>Send worked.
Another time on quitting Mozilla, a "Save as Draft/Cancel/Send" dialog came up
on an open Compose and hung.

3. The alert dialogs show in the Windows menu like any other window, but they
don't show in the windows list in the Dock.

Expected Results:
Gifs should continue gyrating
Alert should not hang.
Windows listed in Dock and in menubar should match.

NOTE on Bookmarks, which are in numerous other bug reports and in the
installation read-me:
Any force-quit may cause bookmarks to be lost, so make a backup copy of your
bookmarks first -at the beginning of each session, and if you've added
bookmarks, close a window to force a save, then make a copy! (nested in
users/yourname/Library/Mozilla/Profiles/yourname/xxxx, unless you have used the
feature of setting your bookmark file elsewhere.) Restore the file before
relaunch to save your sanity.

Feel free to reopen if you can clearly reproduce the problem with current
versions/builds.
I've not seen this bug lately - Jaguar 10.2.8 with Mozilla 1.8a6. Even with OS
10.1.5 and Mozilla 1.6a, removing a bad memory board may have fixed the problem
- it fixed a lot of other problems!
