I request an enhancement and additional pane layout scheme. I would like a full height vertical message pane on the right (or left) with the message list pane below the folder list.
Rational:
Mails are generally wrapped at 80 chars wide and are longer than they are wider. Therefore the message pane should be full height.
Standard aspect ratio of monitors are wider than they are higher, therefore tiling should be done in a horizontal manner. The current vertical layout, however takes this too far with none of the panes providing adequate width.
Few people have enough folders to warrant a full height folder pane.
A full height message pane provides too much information in the form of amount of headers to make for comfortable scanning (breaks GUI study rules) therefore the natural answer is to stack the list and folder panes.
