Build 2000010308 M13: NT4, Linux/Redhat 6.0
jmraker, is this what you see? I reproduced the problem with the 1/3/2000 build
on Windows using a POP account (did not occur with IMAP). After clicking on the
center to move the separator to the top, the Status Bar displays on the top for
about 1 second and then displays on the bottom as expected.
Additional Information
- I reproduced the problem using a Windows M12 build (1999122708).
- Linux: I reproduced the same problem on Linux. It's most easily seen when the
message has a gif attachment otherwise it draws the window too fast for the
problem to appear.
- Mac: I didn't see the problem on Mac.

I can't reproduce this in a current build (2000010608) on NT, and neither can
nbaca. Marking worksforme. Please reopen if you can reproduce, and give detailed
steps.
Due to another bug, I couldn't verify until the '2000011108' win32 build.
I can reproduce this bug in windows 95 & linux. I verified in Win32.
My steps to reproduce:
. Download the daily build
. Delete mozilla registry, old mozilla, unzip mozilla, and run. (The bug usually
appears on subsequent runs)
. Go into preferences, change home page to blank page, and turn off GFX
scrollbars.
. Open mail/news. Enter news (news.mozilla.org)
. Wait for mail's welcome/greeting page to finish loading.
. Get rid of it by clicking on the center of the horizontal separator bar to
snap to the screen corner and back until it goes away.
. When the bar is in the middle of the window, drag it as far north as it can
possibly go. Over the mail columns. It seems that if it's off by 1 pixel, the
status bar will show normally.
. Click on the horizontal separator bar again so it snaps to the bottom.
. Click on the horizontal separator bar again so it snaps back.
. Right now the status bar is STAYING at the top of the screen like in my
screenshot.
Bonus bug fix:
. While the status bar is in the wrong spot, click on the bar again to snap it
to the bottom.
. When it's at the bottom, click on the bar and drag it up.
. For me, the status bar appears at the top of the screen WHILE the bar is
resizing.
I also see then status bar flicker, but this is not it.

Can you reproduce if you leave GFX scroll bars on? The product uses GFX scroll
bars for good. We aren't planning to turn them off, or fix any bugs involved
with native scroll bars.
Yes, With the linux milestone 13 build. My last comment was everything that I
did that lead up to the bug) One thing that I noticed was that when I do this,
the "mail contents" frame is still above the status bar, but it's extremely
narrow in height. Also I had some difficulty performing my usual steps to
produce this (when I did the window became corrupted) I re-opened mail, and did:
. Drag the horizontal bar as top as it can be dragged.
. Clicked on the center thing to snap it to the bottom, and once again for it to
snap back. The status bar is where it is on the screenshot. It stays there
until something updates it, like using mail/news, or using the seperator.
I have been able to reproduce this bug easily in windows 95 and in redhat 6.1,
using daily builds.
This appears to be fixed in win32 (and probably linux). When I try to reproduce
it, the message page is full size as it should. However after some lengthly
clicking on newsgroup servers and maximizing & minimizing the horizontal bar it
positioned the status bar in the wrong place like before, but it also hung mail
and the browser. I'll see if I can discover how to reproduce it. I guess this
could be marked as fixed.
