RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 201581

People

(Reporter: Elizabeth2003, Assigned: mscott)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7
Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird 0.4 (20031205)

I pressed "reply" while viewing a longish (21k, all text) email message, a
digest from a Yahoo group.
The message text in the "Compose:" window, is truncated. Only the first
third-or-so of the message text is included in the new message.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. View message in its own message window
2. Hit the "reply" button in the toolbar

Actual Results:
A new message is created in a new "Compose" window.

The new message contains only about a third of the original message to which I
was replying.

Expected Results:
The new message should contain the whole of the original message to which I was
replying.
The best guess as to what happened here is, you got a mail that was set up like:

	text text text text
	text text text text
	--
	somebody's sig

	> quoted text quoted text quoted text
	> quoted text quoted text quoted text

When you replied, everything after the sig was stripped off, because that's how
it's done. If you believe this analysis is correct, please mark this bug as a
duplicate of bug 216678. Otherwise, unless you can supply a sample message,
there isn't much that can be done.
No response from reporter, duping.
