User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031016 Firebird/0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031016 Firebird/0.7 As I noted in Firebird, when I subsequently invoke the "main" Options panel, it remembers its last sub panel (where a "sub panel" for me is "General", "Display", "Composition", etc...). This is not true in Thunderbird. Additional note: Options are remembered in the "Options" panel of the "Write new message". Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Fire up thunderbid 2. Select Tools -> Option 3. Click "Fonts" 4. Press "Ok" (the option panel will close) 5. Select Tools -> Option Now the first item is selected, not the previous one (Fonts) Expected Results: As in firebird (or tools->options from the Write New Message form of thunderbird itself) it should remember the last option item "used". This is thunderbid 0.4, just downloaded and untarred in my home directory.
this is by design. we open up a panel based on the context of where the user is. In mail compose, the compose panel is loaded, etc.
