User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7
I open the about box because I was curious. I clicked on the contributers link.
After that I went to amazon.com to look up some stuff. As I was looking I opened
up tabs. I wanted to minimize Firebird, so I clicked minimize. The tabs
minimized, but not Firebird it self. And sitting there in the middle of the
window was the about box. But when I tried to click the close button, it didn't
close. It made a default sound (ya know, in windows XP) everytime I clicked on
it. The tabs were minimized on the bottum left of Firebird. There was a restore
button, a maxamize buton, and a close button. I could restore the tabs fine, but
I couldn't minimize Firebird completely. By the way, I've tried to reproduce the
problem, but the abour box won't come up.
Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the about box by selecting Help > About Mozilla Firebird.
2. Click on the contributors link.
3. Without closing Firebird, type in a website. Open some tabs if possible.
4. Attempt to minimize Firebird.By the way, I've tried to reproduce the problem,
but the abour box won't pop up.
Actual Results:
Firebird didn't minimize, only the tabs did. You couldn't minimize it.
Expected Results:
I expected Firebird to minimize.
By the way, I've tried to reproduce the problem, but the about box won't come up.

Do you mean you couldn't minimize the orginal window (the one the about box was
called from), or the new window opened by the link in the about box?
My observations:
- The link in the About box brings up a new window with the page. I could
minimize this window fine (even after opening new tabs etc.) but I couldn't open
the About box in this new window.
- If I brought up the original window from the taskbar, the About box was still
there. This window cannot be minimized (in fact, you can't do anything in the
window) until the About box is closed, but, since the About box was on top, this
presented no problem. This is how it should behave.
This was with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win95; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031209
Firebird/0.7+
Try it with the latest nightly build (FirebirdSetup.exe from
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firebird/nightly/latest-trunk/) and a
clean profile (http://texturizer.net/firebird/bugs.html#s1).

Marcjon, are you using any sort of extension that stops new windows from being
opened, like TBE?
Does clicking on the Contributors link open a new window or a new tab or use the
existing tab?
F. Chen 2/20/2004 With Windows 2000, Build Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT
5.1; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7
Follow-up tests find the problem is more serious.
Do steps 1~3 in the originalreproduce steps
4a. one cannot go back to the original window where we click ->About Mozilla
Firebird to open the About window.
4b. Keep the browser window opened by “contributors information” link open,
click on any part of the “About Mozilla Firebird” pop-window. Nothing happens
(the window is disabled)
4c. Open a new Firebird browser from start menu or task bar, notice that this
window can be minimized but when click on Help->About Mozilla Firebird, nothing
happens.
(Fen wu, /02/24/04)Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5)
Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7
did the following replication test steps:
1. Go to Firebirds browser, type “www.yahoo.com” or “www.cnn.com” whatever in
the webpage.
2. Select “about Mozilla Firebird” after clicking HELP, there will be a small
popup window sitting in the middle of the screen.
3. Clicking the “contributor information” in the small window, there will be
another new window open into this page.
4. After typing “www.yahoo.com” (whatever you want to type) in the webpage, try
to minimize this window, which will be minimized at left bottom corner.
5a. The original window can not minimize and close and the about box is sitting
in the middle of the window. Nothing can actually be performed until you close
the new window with yahoo page.
One more follow-up test, First do 1~4 above,
5b. Click on the Bookmark in the current browser and select any bookmark, notice
nothing happens (the bookmark is not loaded)
Perform the same actions as 5b above on IE and there is no problem.
