Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031127
see steps to reproduce
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to a mail or newsaccount
2. Type some name or subject in the field "Subject or Sender contains:"
3. Delete the name again with the backspace key
4. Click right in the text-field, select Undo
5. Click right in the text-field again and select Redo
Actual Results:
Either no entrys or one entry appears again (news account) or only some mails
(mail account). In the status bar "xy matches found" stays and the "Clear"
button also doesn't change this. To see all mails/posting again you have to
switch to another account and back.
Expected Results:
All postings or mail should appear again, since there's nothing in the text-field.

works for me, although redo is no longer on the context menu, must use shortcut or menu>edit>redo
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060714 SeaMonkey/1.5a
Frank, do you agree WFM?

I can confirm this bug with
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060912 Mnenhy/0.7.4.10002 SeaMonkey/1.5a
After a redo or undo the results even sometimes do not match the filter.

Jürgen you're right, my mistake. my example with a more detail...
a. type something that yields just *one* search result (to keep things simple).
backspace it away, undo, redo.
b. search shows results of some search key that was used prior to this. even if you have restarted seamonkey
c. type anything in the search -> no matches (is it trying to append what you are typing to some older text?), and as previously noted, clear does not work.
same in address book quick search for both thunderbird and suite.
same in thunderbird message pane with one difference, must hit enter after undo (before redo)
(I also got SM in such a tizzy that now it's at 100% cpu)
didn't find any clearly related bugs. but other odd behavior includes bug 282638, Bug 147625, Bug 42220
this is really an editor component thing, no?
