User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20030925
Build Identifier: mozilla Thunderbird 0.4 (20031205)

I Use Thunderbird as a news reader to read the linux kenrel mailing list.
I fell bit behind so there was over 7 thousand unread messages (which
may or may not matter).... To catch up I was 't'-ing through the messages
(which are threaded) and thunderbirds randomly crashes

I started thunderbird from a xterm window I got the following error
messages

Grendel$ /d1/thunderbird/thunderbird/thunderbird
GConf Error: Bad key or directory name:
"/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/s++/command": `+' is an invalid character in
key/directory names

Note: my desktop is KDE

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Read lkml as a new group
2.starting 't'-ing through the messages
3.

Actual Results:
thunderbird crashes with the following error message:
GConf Error: Bad key or directory name:
"/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/s++/command": `+' is an invalid character in
key/directory names

I'm using KDE as my desktop and Fedora Core as my OS..
