Still cannot login into IMAP server

I thought the problems connecting to IMAP servers where solved on version 1.5,
but I upgraded and have the same problem.
When trying to connect to an IMAP server, mozilla ask for the password. When
correct password is entered, I get a "Login to server xxx.x.xxx failer".
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SAME SETTINGS ARE WORKING SUCCESFULLY ON THUNDERBIRD!!
I'm a software engineer, and I know what I'm doing, and I know all the settings
are right.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create an IMAP account
2.Try to download mail
3.enter the correct password for it
Actual Results:
Same problem as described
