User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 With "Block unrequested popup windows" checked in Mozilla 1.5 for XP, I can go to the indicated URL, click on the picture titled "Ellen and team fitting the mast", and get a popup window showing an enlarged version of the picture - which is what I expect, since, by clicking on the picture, I claim i've (implicitly) requested the popup. With Mozilla 1.5 for Linux, however, I have to unclick "Block unrequested popup windows" in order for the enlarged version to appear in a popup. Here is my Linux environment: Browser Mozilla 1.5 Kernel Linux 2.4.23 X Server XFree86 4.1.0-16woody1 (Debian) Window Manager fvwm 2.4.6-2 (Debian) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Using Linux version, go to Edit->Preferences->Provacy & Security->Popup Windows and check "Block unrequested popup windows". 2. Go to the indicated URL and click on the picture "Ellen and team fitting the mast. 3. Observe non- appearance of popup. 4. Repeat steps 1 and 2 under Windows version. 5. Observe that popup does appear. Actual Results: Under Linux, the popup does not appear. Under XP it does appear. Expected Results: Under Linux, Mozilla should have shown the window. Linux configuration: Browser Mozilla 1.5 Kernel Linux 2.4.23 X Server XFree86 4.1.0-16woody1 (Debian) Window Manager fvwm 2.4.6-2 (Debian)
On linux, are you clicking before the page is done loading? Popup blocking is in cross-platform code, so there should be no platform descrepancies there.
WFM LInux 2004011308. This should be moved to OS->Linux
