Build: 2000010308
OS: Win 98

I'm not sure if this is a security module or browser bug, so I'm assigning to DP
:-)

Here are the steps:
0. Open browser
1. Go to e*trade login page:
https://trading.etrade.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+Loginpage
2. Enter account name and password; click logon
3. The following message appears:
"You are trying to logon with a page from your browser's cache. This can happen
if you used the Back key to access the login page or if your browser cache
setting is set to never check for a new page. Please click on Logout and clear
your browser's cache then try to login again."
4. Click on Logout link
5. Try logging on again
6. Same message appears

Note that this bug is intermittent - I have been able to log on to etrade. But
this "cache" error comes up more often than not, even when I did not log in
after hitting the back button. In fact it usually happens right after staring
the browser and trying to log in.

This is a dogfood bug IMO as well as a beta 1 bug.

I tried it with an invalid username and password and got the error message
Invalid UserID or Password.

Chris can I get your etrade userid and password please. :-)

Anyway off to warren for cache issues.

chriss, is this still not working for you?
I still have the problem, even with today's build.
FYI: If you need a user-name and password:

I think that all Netscape have "options link" accounts. Because of this fact,
we have an analogous "etrade" account. You just need to call etrade customer
service, and they'll help you work out your username and password (It is not the
same as your optionslink ID, it is completely strange and random). Give them a
call if you're trying to debug, and you should be able to get your id/password
to work with on you debugging. This won't help everyone.. but it will help
gagan... and dp... etc etc. ;-)

When I try this, I am getting an alert box saying https is not a registered
protocol. I did:
http://www.etrade.com
Then clicked on the "trading" link
Then when I try to do Signup etc. I get this alert box....

Any input on this, gagan?
gayatri you have to have commercial build to try this. And the real problem is
with user-agents and dougt already has a dup so am marking this as such. thanks
for your help.
