So, we're getting focus events switching windows. Is this reasonable?

For the record, IE6 does the same. I do think, however, that this is a valid bug, especially for anyone who appreciates a spatially oriented interface. An interesting and relevant article: http://www.arstechnica.com/paedia/f/finder/finder-2.html#spatial Prog.

Well, you could always turn off the browser.urlbar.click preferences...

Those preferences should have no bearing on the behavior of the selection when switching from and back to the browser. At least in my opinion. Thee's no URL bar click happening when switching back.

The JS has no way to tell what caused a focus event, it could be tabbed to, ctrl+l, alt+d, clicked or focus lost and gained via the window manager...
