User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040112
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040112

It appears that the following actions are guaranteed to blow Mozilla away :

1) Drop down one of the main menus (File, Edit, View...), any menu will do.
2) Click the left button outside that menu

Result:
Mozilla just dissappears !

This is similar to Bug 230873 but this one relates to main menus not context menus.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Mozilla crashes

Expected Results:
The menu should disappear.
Launching Mozilla from a shell produces the following:

/opt/mozilla/run-mozilla.sh: line 451: 17472 Segmentation fault "$prog" ${1
                               +"$@"}
Works fine for me.

Reporter provide a stacktrace.

Reporter, it seems like the three bugs you filed (bug 230873, bug 230874, and
this bug) probably have the same cause. Have you verified that you're using a
clean profile and clean installation?
Depends on: 230873
like 230874, this is possibly a dup of bug 230738. If so, it should be fixed in
the latest nightlies.
Works alright for me, but my build is a bit newer

Yes, I think it was a glitch that crept into a nightly build and has
subsequently been fixed. As the raiser of this O.R. I will set it to WorksForMe
