M12, tried on NT and Linux RH 6.0. 1. In a password field, type some text. 2. Select the text, and replace the password by typing some characters. 3. Submit the form. 4. Check the console. Note that the first character of the new password is missing. Kind of a pain. The first time, I guess I entered my password wrong. Subsequent attempts at re-entering my password failed because of this bug. Took me a while to figure out why my password was not being accepted. I'll attach a test case.

this works on win95 and winNT using optimized build 200010508
I believe eric already fixed this. If not, then it's a dup of a bug he already has. Reassigning to eric. Chris, if more of these come in just assign them to eric for dup-ing. Thanks.

Well, I can't claim to have fixed this, but somebody did since M12. I'll mark it a dup. Thanks! *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 22647 ***
