My Mozilla has lost it's ability to change cookie preferences. It's currently
set to disable all cookies but when I go into edit->preferences and change the
settings to anything else the changes are not saved. Note that I appear to be
able to change any other preferences (at least the other ones I've tried). Note
this isn't user error - I've changed cookie preferences just under a million
times. ;-)
I suspect the file saving the cookie preferences has just become corrupt. I've
had an frequent problem where mozilla crashes on startup (while the splash
screen is displayed) that I haven't reported because it is intermittent and I
can't reproduce it on demand. I suspect the start crash some how cause the
cookies preferences to get screwed up.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. goto edit->preferences-> privacy and security->cookies
2. select anything other than disable cookies
3. click "OK"
4. go back to edit->preferences-> privacy and security->cookies
5. the changes have NOT been saved
