User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040116 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040116 If user accidentally hits a control character while focus is in the quicksearch field results will be filtered on criteria I've been unable to determine. Hitting the "clear" button doesn't clear out the criteria. Changing email folder, then changing back does clear the criteria. This behavior happens frequently when using custom views due to bug 231748. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Select "All" for email view (hopefully with lots of headers) 2. Click on quicksearch field 3. Type "Ctrl-R" (as if you were replying to an email) 4. Some number of emails will be filtered out 5. Click "Clear" Actual Results: I go from 10574 emails to 412 after typing Ctrl-R. Clicking the clear button results in activity, but leaves the same 412 emails shown. Expected Results: I believe (non-escaped) control characters should probably be ignored in the quicksearch field, or should be escaped in such a way that they are visible, although I don't see much value in searching for control characters. When click "clear" the criteria should be truly cleared resulting in a non-filtered view.
