User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; es-ES; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20020823 Netscape/7.0 Build Identifier: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.6/mozilla-win32-1.6-installer.exe I've been using Mozilla 1.5 for 3 months. When 1.6 version (not beta, not release candidate) was unlished, I downloaded it and installed it without uninstalling the previous 1.5 version. But Mozilla didn't start at all. I only got the splash screen and the mozilla.exe process running but I wasn't able to use it (neither the browser, nor the mail client app.) OK, I uninstalled mozilla and deleted the "Program Files\mozilla.org" forlder... Rebooted, made a regclean run, used Norton SystemWorks in order to look for possible problems, scanned the disk with NAV and tried to reinstall 1.6 The problem persisted, so, I uninstalled 1.6 again and tried to reinstall 1.5.... No way. I can see the mozilla.exe process running in the background, it fetches my email from my pop3 accounts but I only get the splash screen freezed and can't operate the program because there's actually no GUI to operate with. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Prevously 1.5 version installed and working properly 2. Downloaded 1.6 version (not beta, not RC) 3. Installed 1.6 version without uninstalling the 1.5 Actual Results: Mozilla 1.6 starts but the splash screen freezes The mozilla.exe process is running, active and responding, but I can't use the software. Expected Results: Mozilla should have started properly I was using the Toy Factory theme by Netscape, downloaded from <http://wp.netscape.com/themes/7_0/index.html> in Mozilla 1.5 I didn't perform a Uninstall of Mozilla 1.5 before installing the 1.6 version.

Uninstall all versions of mozilla and then delete the mozilla and gre folders then try reinstalling. Next time read the release notes and do what they tell you (Such as uninstalling previous versions of mozilla)

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
