User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031015 Firebird/0.7 (aebrahim) Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird 0.4 (20031205) One feature I *really* miss from OE, particularly for newsgroups, is the way OE flags entire threads. I really want to be able to flag an entire thread *and* to sort the thread/message list by date, but with the flagged threads at the top of the unflagged threads. I still return to OE for news at times because of this feature. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Option doesn't exist 2. 3. I opened this RFE on Thunderbird, because that's what I use now, but it applies equally to Mozilla Mail.
Actually, I see now that I can mark the whole thread with "Watch thread". Missed that since there doesn't seem to be a way to do it by clicking in the flag or thread columns. A way to do this would be a nice addition, but sorting by watched threads is what I'm really requesting.

Then you need to change the summary to "sort by watched threads and by date", and you need to depend on the "multi-level sorting" bug.
Changed summary. Haven't found "depends" bug yet
Summary: Flag whole threads at once, and sort threads with flagged threads at top → sort by watched threads and by date
Blocks: 236849
Added dependention on "multi-sort thingy"

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. Please don't close. Still want a sort by watched and by date.
