User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031201 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031201 Go to http://www.tv2.no/storm/, click somewhere on the map, and observe mozilla eating all your memory fast until it crashes. This always happens to me, and it also happens using Galeon. As far as I can see, the web page does not use any plugins. I have not seen any other pages causing the same behaviour. Going to another location stops the memory eating, but doesn't release any. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. http://www.tv2.no/storm/ 2. click somewhere on the map 3. ps axu | grep mozilla
cqn you try again using latest Mozilla milestone 1.6 ?
Confirming with 1.6 Mozilla Suite i686 Linux. It eats up the CPU and allocates fast. It can still be stopped by using the back button, but memory is not released.
This site uses Frames, one of which loads a .jhtml file. Can't tell you more as the site seems to be under heavy load at the moment.
As others have mentioned, the problem is still there with 1.6. As for the frames, when accessing the frame directly, like http://www.tv2.no/storm/mittvaer/mitt_vaer.jhtml?x=126&y=147&lat=63.42&long=10.45&utmLat=7033205.065220126&utmLon=572384.3979385522&mapId= the problem is still there. BTW, the site seems to be responding normally again now. Eivind
WFM under WinXP, so is probably a Linux-only problem.
WFM 1.6 win2k
Actually, Opera seems to have the same problem. Unlike mozilla, Opera fork()s to execute flash-content (seems like a good idea, doesn't it?), showing that it's the flash-plugin-process that consumes all the memory. So maybe it's the flashplugin that's causing the problem for mozilla as well? Eivind
the page has a flash object with "devicefont=true". dupe of "memory exhaustion with Flash on Linux" *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 186281 ***
