Summary: Crashes when browsing. → Crashes when browsing. [FLASH]
Trying to replicate this, what I saw was "Sensing browser...", then a redirect
to http://www.durgasoft.com/plugin.htm , then "Sensing browser..." again, then
a message stating that the Flash plugin needs to be installed.

Presumably this is because of bug 16524, "Site auto-detection of plug-ins broken
by mozilla", M14. ( Reported by a Macromedia employee for www.macromedia.com)

Oddly, clicking on the link for "Download and install the plugin..." results
in a crash shortly after beginning to display www.macromedia.com, while
going directly to http://www.macromedia.com does not crash the browser.

Tested with: 2000-01-09-09-M12 nightly binary on Windows NT 4.0sp3

With NN 4.7, the browser is redirected to http://www.durgasoft.com/movie.htm,
where a FLASH animation plays and then the [ENTER] button appears. Attempting
to go directly to the same URL with Mozilla results only in a big gray rectangle
with "embed" on it (the movie is called by the embed attribute of an <OBJECT>).

[sending over to y'all...]
I am using today's windows commercial build (2000011408). I do not see any crash
on this web page. The shockwave movie loads perfectly fine. sidr@albedo.net ,
try removing the empty "plugins" folder from the 5.0 installation. Then try
loading the "www.durgasoft.com" page from mozilla(presuming that your 4.x
version has the shockwave plugin installed). It should work.
Ah. I'm using the .zip version, not the installer version of the nightly
binaries, and I'm guessing that it doesn't even try to find existing plugins,
that sounding like a task for the installer. Certainly no registry wizardry
has been done, and there is no plugins directory to be seen.

Still getting the crash when clicking on the link for "Download and install the
plugin..." immediately after the Macromedia site starts loading.

Guessing that all bets are off regarding plugins if the installer hasn't
been run: I'll bow out of this one if that's so.

Retested with: 2000-01-14-08-M13 nightly binary on Windows NT 4.0sp3
I used the "win32.zip" build 2000011408M13 that you mentioned. It still works
perfectly fine for me. There is no crash since my browser seems to detects the
plugin and proceeds ahead and plays the animation. Pressing "Enter" launches the
'index2.htm" page.I have Shockwave Flash 4.0 r25 installed on my 4.x.
Bowing out: it does appear that having Mozilla automagically load Flash
and be seen as Flash-capable by the sniffer is a prerequisite for testing
this bug as reported. The problems I've seen seem to be due to that automagic
not working on this box, where NN 4.7 is installed in a nonstandard loaction,
as are the profiles.

While I should neither see the EMBED (that should be intercepted by a
Plug-in download page) nor the crash when trying to go to Macromedia's site,
both of those are other bugs. The latter will be reported as such if I can find
a repeatable way of triggering it -- although renaming the "npswf32.dll"
file, temporarily, in the Plugins Directory on a machine where Mozilla
does normally find it, may work.
