I think it would be useful to display the text in the Location bar syntax
colored -- I believe it would be helpful against phising, but also would help to
spot typos.

I'd suggest something like this:
http://user:password@server/path/file.ext#fragment?query
where
	"http" would be blue
	user would be bright red, bold font
	password would be bright red, normal font
	server would be black
	path + file would be blue
	fragment would be green
	query would be magenta
	all the special characters between those parts would be black
