The Default Install should not prompt for installation location. That is what
Custom is for.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
I disagree completely. Installation path shouldn't be a "custom" option. I
can't think of any application that doesn't ask for the path on a standard
installation.

This would certainly help with the installer deletion bug.
as a note, the "safe upgrade"/"clean install" page in the installer currently
seems to be skipped, per Ben's checkin of last night. So that's not really an
issue as far as I can tell.

Alan, we should fix the installer deletion bug instead of crippling the
installer to work around that bug.

I meant for the Default Install, not Custom Install. Custom would still let you
choose location. And I have seen other installers like that. This would be,
ideally, for a newbie that doesn't bother to change anything when installing.

The whole standard/custom install thing is unncessary. Custom install usually
refers to components, not location etc, so the user is tricked into installing
wherever Firefox wants, without being told. This is the sort of evil trick
employed in realplayer.

Newbies who don't want to change the location can just click next through the
location screen, and ppl who are bothered can change it.

There is more to Custom than just choosing locations. A "default" install
should be just that, a pre-defined set of things that we think are "best". It
would mean fewer clicks for getting up and running and put everything where it
should for a newbie. If you're the kind of person that likes to change
locations, pick components, or not use all shortcuts, then you'd do custom.

We could also just put the Finish button sooner, although I'm not a fan of that
"change my homepage" that people would run into. But that's a different bug.

WFM, when choosing standard, I get no prompts before it installs, although as an aside, on the Standard / Custom screen it should show what defaults are used if the user chooses a standard install.
