Currently the developers pages link straight to the ftp folder, so there is no
explanation (or disclaimers) about nightlies. The link should point to
binaries.html instead.

binaries.html does need updating though - it says that all Mozilla binaries are
only for testing, including the milestones, which isn't true any more (the same
text was removed from the releases page). Also the Nautilus link is broken, and
Caldera isn't any longer being distributed...
Michael, can you merge content of www.mozilla.org/download-mozilla.html and
www.mozilla.org/binaries.html and put it under developer/ ?

I don't mind doing a little work, but I'm not quite sure why those pages need to
be merged, or how that work fits under this bug.

I know I made a comment about the content, but the main issue I was trying to
address was the fact that the sidebar doesn't link to binaries.html. I'm not
sure the release builds or third party products belong on the same page, let
alone source code. I don't see any problem with having several download pages,
as long as they all have different content.

wfm, Asa just put a notice on developer/ . binaries.html has outlived its
usefullness and needs to go (bug 187813)

it's rather pointless having bugs when people are making changes independently
of the bugs.

Asa's change is an improvement. However, it's still possible to go from home
page -> releases page -> nightly ftp folder. binaries.html can go, but that
link still needs to go to a page with an explanation, rather than straight to
the ftp.

Whatever happens, as mentioned in Bug 235764, the link to nightly builds is broken. This looks less
than impressive and should be fixed.

Does anyone know why on www.mozilla.org/developer/ there are no per-platform
links to Thunderbird nightlies?
Attachment #151343 - Attachment is obsolete: true
"Does anyone know why on www.mozilla.org/developer/ there are no per-platform
links to Thunderbird nightlies?"

The Thunderbird nightlies were not produced automatically, but manually every
week or two, and so there was no "latest-X.X" link, and so no way of making a
link to the latest build file for each platform.

Also, on this page, I think it would be better to link to the branch builds for
Firefox and Thunderbird - current development is on the branch, and the next few
releases will be coming from the branch. That would mean updating the links a
few times, but the trunk builds are a bit in limbo really, until we've had
Firefox 1.0 and Thunderbird 1.0 (and possibly some 1.x releases) from the branch.
