Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113

When I try to send an email from either of my Yahoo! email accounts, it fails,
saying that the client has failed to connect to the SMTP server. I
double-checked the SMTP address to be sure it was correct, and tried again with
the same result. I know that the server is fine, since I sent an email
yesterday through the Mozilla browser.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Compose and send an E-mail from a Yahoo! address.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
It tried to send the mail, but it failed, and a window with this message shows up:
"Sending of mail failed.

The message could not be sent because connecting to SMTP server
smtp.mail.yahoo.com failed. This server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP
connections. Please verify that your SMTP server setting is correct and try
again, or else contact your network adminstrator."

Expected Results:
Sent the E-mail.
Does the message nevertheless go thru, e.g. mail to yourself?

Do you mean that you sent yesterday an email with the same method and the same
version of Mozilla?
Or you did sent it through the web interface of yahoo and now you are trying to
configure an email account in Mozilla?

If the problem is the first one this problem is invalid, just because a server
doesn't reply properly sometimes then it doesn't mean that there's any problem
in Mozilla.
If it is the second one then it doesn't mean that your configuration of the
server is correct. You should try to configure the same account with another
email cliente to test that the servers are the correct ones.

No it does not. I'll do a check in response to #2.
